55% of Communication is BODY Language – The Unsaid!

Watch the video and decide for yourself, the one thing I can tell you is that your body language is effecting you in sales. Most people have heard that communication is 55%(yes 55%) body language, 38% tonality and only 7% words.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD THE FEELING?

Have you ever been sitting across the table from someone and you just have a feeling, you’re not exactly sure where or what it is coming from but something does not feel right. The words you hear may be perfect, but again you can’t get past the feeling. The body language does not feel right! Is this happening to you and you’re not even aware?

FOCUS ON WORDS

How many salespeople focus on words? Don’t get me wrong words are important, you can’t sound like an idiot so the first thing we teach people is to learn what to say, then how to say it. It is fundamental, yet if I was hiring a new salesperson and had to choose between someone with bumbled their words but people trusted or someone who was super polished with their words but people did not trust. I would choose the 1st every time. We can always work on words, not so sure about trust. I do talk allot about this in The Sales Playbook. Being released March 2016.

As a salesperson, you’re not only selling products or services, you’re selling YOU. Customers are buying the experience of working with you as an individual.

Your positive attitude, sparkling personality, trustworthy demeanor, or however else you present yourself. Why? Because in order to buy something, customers have to interact with you to some degree.

The more they like you, the more pleasant the experience will probably be for them and the more willing they are to go through the buying process with you instead of someone else. Using the phone will give you an advantage in bringing your personality front and center.

When done well, you can make an instant connection with prospects. When done poorly, you’ll hear a click.
